The Marketing and Social Networking Intern will work closely with the Director of Donor Recruitment and the Biomedical Services Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that volunteer information and networking channels are up-to-date, engaging, and reaching the groups interested in volunteering. The Red Cross strives to share information with potential and current volunteers for mobile blood drives, blood center activities, and other volunteer positions (driving, office work, etc).
S/he will perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, Safety Quality Identity Potency Purity (SQUIPP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable Federal, state and local regulations.
This is an academic student learning opportunity for the fall 2017 semester. It can be fulfilled for credit, depending on the requirements of the intern’s degree program. Through this opportunity, the intern will develop real-world skills in communications, marketing, and social networking, while simultaneously supporting the mission and work of the Red Cross
1. Design and implement projects which may include a variety of channel initiatives such as website, e-mail, and social media work
2. Work on creative initiatives such as graphic design, writing, and production.
3. Support marketing campaign/program activities including objectives, metrics, audience/list generation, messaging, channel strategies, implementation plan and tools, creative (design, content, production), collateral development, and test/pilot plan.
4. Create and/or support digital engagement activities (Red Cross website, Facebook, Twitter, etc) and ensure information is shared appropriately across ME, NH, and VT districts.
